Juxtaposition

Art meets history in quirky new exhibition

This exhibition contrasted works of art with real-life historical objects. Titled ‘Juxtaposition’, it pairs off contemporary craft items with counterpart museum artefacts in a quirky and informative way, offering new perspectives to visitors. It featured work from the prestigious Southern Arts Crafts collection together with objects from the museum’s own collections which were selected to bring personal, historical or technological stories from the past alive. In the selection of exhibits shown below

The council’s Cabinet Member for Cultural Services Lorraine Lindsay-Gale said: “This exhibition offers something for everyone, with superb artistry and fascinating historical items alongside each other.”
